2025 Cadillac XLR Redesign and Update Plan
No big changes are coming to the Cadillac XTS for 2025. And not just little tweaks either. The already-announced electric version, the Cadillac XTS iQ, is likely receiving much of Cadillac’s attention as it is expected to be released this year. 2025 Cadillac XLR Price
Exterior & Interior
The Cadillac XTS e is the pinnacle of Cadillac luxury vehicles, and it doesn’t skimp on the inside. All bar the base Luxury trim employ faux leather; the Platinum trim uses exceptionally soft semi-aniline hides. Some of the controls are similar with lower-end GM cars, but the leather upholstery, metal speaker grilles, and changeable interior ambient lighting give it a more premium look. There is a regular ESV variant and a long-wheelbase ESV model; the latter has extra luggage capacity and better legroom for third-row passengers. 2025 Cadillac XLR Price
2025 Cadillac XLR Specs
When it comes to technology, Cadillac has gone all out with the Cadillac XTS. An impressive 38 inches of combined digital real estate—made up of three stacked curved OLED displays—forms the digital dashboard, which serves as the vehicle’s focal point. One display acts as the driver’s gauge cluster, while the other two project the CUE infotainment system onto them.
Comparable to the massive monolithic multimedia package seen in Mercedes-Benz GLS-class vehicles, the Cadillac XTS’s stacked arrangement gives the impression of depth and is more seamlessly integrated than the Benz’s. Also included in the tech features are an augmented reality navigation system and, as an optional extra, a rear-seat entertainment package with two 12.6-inch streaming monitors. 2025 Cadillac XLR Price
Regardless of the Cadillac XTS model that audiophiles opt for, they will not be disappointed. When designing the sound systems for the Cadillac XTS, the automaker collaborated with the Grammy-winning audio and acoustics firm AKG. While the Luxury, Sport, and Premium Luxury trims come standard with a 19-speaker Studio Sound system, the Platinum trim gets the AKG Studio Reference system, which has an impressive 36 speakers.
Engine & Performance
The 6.2-liter V-8 engine comes standard and can save gas by turning down half of its cylinders while driving, but a 3.0-liter diesel inline-six engine is an available option. It makes 420 horsepower. An independent rear suspension is standard on all new Cadillac XTS models, as it is on all Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, and Yukon models. More space for passengers’ legs in the third row is now possible, a feature that was lacking in the prior model due to the solid rear axle. In addition, higher-end models come with air springs that have adjustable dampers. Our test track time for the V-8-powered long-wheelbase Cadillac XTS ESV was a whopping 5.9 seconds to 60 mph.
Although the 277-horsepower diesel engine falls short in straight-line performance compared to the conventional V-8, some purchasers find that the sacrifice is worthwhile due to the increased fuel efficiency and robust 460 lb-ft of low-end torque. Only the V will satisfy the speed-hungry Cadillac XTS fanatics.
At our test track, the enormous SUV reached 60 mph in a mere 4.3 seconds, thanks to its powerful supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine that produces 682 horsepower. Both the power and the baritone burble of the V-8 pleased us. Despite an improvement in handling over the base model, the Cadillac XTS-V still can’t compare to competitors like the Mercedes-AMG GLS63 and the BMW Alpina XB7 in terms of how agile they feel. 2025 Cadillac XLR Price
2025 Cadillac XLR Fuel Economy
With all-wheel drive, your XTS’s highway MPG lowers to 19 mpg. The performance-oriented V’s gas mileage is significantly lower than the standard model’s, coming in at 11 mpg in the city and 16 mpg on the highway. In comparison to previous engines, the turbo-diesel engine offers a considerable improvement in fuel efficiency, with the EPA predicting up to 27 highway mpg and 21 city mpg. On our highway fuel-efficiency test route, an all-wheel-drive Cadillac XTS e with the optional diesel engine managed 26 mpg while going at 75 mph. 2025 Cadillac XLR Price
2025 Cadillac XLR Safety Features
The goal of Cadillac’s flagship SUV is to showcase driver-assistance technology. To that end, the company provides its superb Super Cruise adaptive-cruise system—which allows hands-free driving—and standardizes several of the most popular active-safety systems. Important safety measures consist of:
- Recognizing pedestrians in front and behind is standard on standard autonomous emergency braking systems.
- Automatic lane-keeping and standard lane-departure warning
- A hands-free driving option is available with the included adaptive cruise control. 2025 Cadillac XLR Price
2025 Cadillac XLR Release Date & Price
The base price of a 2025 Cadillac XTS is $83,890 and the maximum price with options and trim levels is $154,290. Getting anything less than the Premium Luxury Platinum trim level on a Cadillac XTS is a waste of money if you’re in the market for that luxury vehicle. For that price, you may have semi-aniline leather upholstery, a power-adjustable front seat with massage functions, doors that soft-close automatically, and a 36-speaker audio system by AKG.
It has a self-parking function, a head-up display, and Super Cruise as standard features. The only difference between the two is the Sport Platinum’s black exterior trim. Naturally, the V-Series is your only option if you’re after maximum performance. 2025 Cadillac XLR Price
